We had a great first year with starting Mental Health Awareness Summit and getting to know all the awesome students, teachers, and clubs that are working hard to fight the stigma of mental illness.
Last Monday, the MHAS facilitator Olga Rechetova and Cypress LET'S BC2M president Sophia Aceves attended NAMI's board meeting and presented our accomplishments for this year.

This May, Cypress High School hosted a school-wide Mental Health Awareness week with the help of a scholarship provided by NAMI of Santa Cruz County. If you have an idea for an event or activity that will help to promote mental health awareness at your school, you can apply for a scholarship for next year! The scholarship application is available on this website or can be requested by email.
We hope you have a fantastic, rejuvenating summer and come back next year ready to continue making a difference at your schools and communities! Stay tuned for updates from the Mental Health Awareness Summit in the fall, but in the meantime...

I also want to be a person that gets credited for my work. I have not been feeling to well about what I can do, and I just want to prove that I can do something. I know that I am not that entertaining, but I want to be entertaining. I want to be a person that people would actually want to talk. I want my speech to be what people want to hear every day, or at least that is the point.
